The Indonesian Language Education Study Program at the UPI Bandung Postgraduate School Program (SPs) developed since 1968 under the auspices of the IKIP Bandung Post-Doctoral Education Institute (LPPD) as an embryonic postgraduate education institution in Indonesia. The Doctoral Program (S3) accepted students starting in the 1981/1982 academic year. Permission to open it officially as a S3 and S2 Study Program was granted in 1993 based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture No. 588/Dikti/Kep/1993, dated 21 October 1993. The current Indonesian Language Education Accreditation Rating for the Masters Program is UNGGUL with BAN-PT Decree number 6586/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.Ppj/M/IX/2022 while the Accreditation Rating for the Doctoral Program is A with BAN-PT Decree Number 6720/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/D/X/2020. The main studies of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program are the latest developments in Indonesian language and literature education; development of language, literature, and BIPA learning models; studies of language, literature, and oral traditions.
