Eight Cum Laude Graduates Mark the First Graduating Cohort of the 2022 Class in Sundanese Language Education

Bandung, 30 January 2026 - The Sundanese Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, graduated eight new bachelor’s degree recipients at a yudisium ceremony held at FPBS Building, Level 2C, on Friday (30/01/2026). All graduates achieved cum laude honors and completed their studies through an accelerated seven-semester study period, making them the first graduates from the 2022 cohort.

The Head of the Sundanese Language Education Study Program, Dr. Haris Santosa Nugraha, S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed appreciation for the achievement as evidence of the successful implementation of the “UPI Berdampak” program. According to him, graduating on time with strong academic performance reflects the effectiveness of the learning system and academic mentoring applied within the study program.

Every student has a different background and experience. However, the learning process at FPBS is expected to become valuable capital to contribute meaningfully to society, he said.

The eight students declared graduates in the yudisium were Sinta, Rinrin Nurlaela, Nazwa Ailaida Maharani, Tanti Sri Wahyuni, Fanatria Zahra, Risma Hikmah Rahmadini, Budi Rahayu Setiawan, and Rizki Muhammad Nur. The ceremony proceeded solemnly and was attended by lecturers of the Sundanese Language Education Study Program.

This achievement also supports the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education. The efficiency of the study period achieved without reducing academic quality demonstrates FPBS UPI’s commitment to producing competent, competitive, and well-rounded graduates.

Strategically, the new graduates are encouraged to immediately apply their expertise in Sundanese language and literature in the workplace, education, and community service. Dr. Haris also recommended that graduates maintain ties with their alma mater to strengthen professional networks and support the preservation of regional culture in the digital era. Synergy between alumni and the study program is considered important in expanding the sustainable impact of scholarly contributions.

On the same occasion, Prof. Usep Koswari, M.Pd., delivered a message to the graduates to always uphold academic ethics and dedicate the knowledge they have gained for the benefit of society.

May the graduates be beneficial in the field of Sundanese language and bring pride to their parents and alma mater, he said.

Meanwhile, the graduate representative, Rizki Muhammad Nur, expressed gratitude to all lecturers for their guidance and mentoring throughout the study period.

May the knowledge we gained become a good deed for our lecturers, he concluded.
