The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia held a Ramadan committee dissolution activity as the closing of the series of Ramadan 1447 H programs that had taken place for a full month. This year, FPBS was entrusted to serve as the organizing committee for Ramadan activities in collaboration with Al Furqan Mosque UPI. This trust became both a mandate and a concrete contribution from FPBS in supporting the strengthening of Islamic values, togetherness, and social care within the campus environment.
Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, various religious, educational, and social activities were held intensively at Al Furqan Mosque and in buildings around the UPI environment, from 1 Ramadan to 30 Ramadan. This series of activities involved not only the academic community, but also the general public, students, and various supporting elements who participated in enlivening the blessed month.
Several programs carried out during Ramadan included routine employee religious gatherings or safari pengajian, campus preacher training, short pesantren programs for elementary, junior high, and senior high school students of Labschool, the Humanist Islamic Festival, Islamic seminars, as well as zakat, infaq, and sadaqah collection activities. In addition, the committee also distributed basic food packages and held social service activities as a form of concern for the surrounding community, while also organizing tahsin training, women’s studies, and joint tadarus held every morning and afternoon.
Furthermore, the Ramadan atmosphere within the UPI environment became even more vibrant through the implementation of itikaf, daily iftar gatherings, and congregational tarawih and dzuhur prayers. These various activities show that Ramadan at Al Furqan Mosque was not merely an annual ceremonial agenda, but a moment of spiritual development, strengthening ukhuwah, and comprehensive social service.
The Ramadan committee dissolution activity became a forum for reflection and evaluation of the entire series of programs that had been implemented. In an atmosphere of togetherness, the dissolution of the committee also served as a form of appreciation for all committee members, volunteers, mosque administrators, lecturers, education staff, students, and all parties who had devoted their energy, time, and thoughts to ensuring the smooth running of this year’s Ramadan activities. The successful implementation of these various programs was certainly inseparable from the spirit of mutual cooperation and synergy among parties that had been well established from the beginning to the end of the implementation.
As the organizing committee, FPBS was considered able to carry out the mandate well through solid coordination and the implementation of activities that were diverse, inclusive, and reached various layers of society. The collaboration between FPBS and Al Furqan Mosque UPI proves that the campus can be present not only as a center of academic education, but also as a space for character development, spirituality, and social care.
Through this committee dissolution, it is hoped that the spirit of togetherness and the values of goodness that grew during Ramadan will not stop with the end of the holy month, but will continue to become part of the culture of everyday campus life. The experience of organizing Ramadan activities for a full month also became a valuable lesson that can strengthen readiness and the quality of organizing religious programs in the future.
With the conclusion of the entire series of Ramadan 1447 H activities, FPBS expressed its deepest gratitude and highest appreciation to all parties who contributed. May all efforts, dedication, and good deeds carried out during Ramadan become a field of blessing and further strengthen the relationship between the campus, mosque, and community.
