Bandung, September 12, 2025 – The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), held a Basic Information Literacy Workshop on Friday (12/9) from 09.00–11.00 WIB at the FPBS Auditorium and online. This activity was part of a series of information literacy workshops organized by the UPI Library for all new students, which took place from September 8–12, 2025.
The event was opened by the faculty leadership, represented by Prof. Dr. Yulianeta, M.Pd., along with representatives from the library. It continued with presentation sessions, hands-on practice, and Q&A with the speakers. The material covered included an introduction to the UPI Library profile and services, access to e-resources, the use of the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), the SAPA digital service, and innovative facilities such as the Korea Indonesia Cultural Center (KICC) as well as AI & VR services.
The Dean of FPBS UPI, Wawan Gunawan, M.Ed., Ph.D., expressed his hope that new students would take advantage of this opportunity to build information literacy skills from the start of their studies. “Information literacy is a crucial foundation in the academic world. Through this workshop, I hope FPBS students can develop critical, independent, and responsible abilities in accessing and managing information, so they are ready to contribute to the advancement of knowledge,” he said.
This activity is in line with FPBS’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By strengthening information literacy, FPBS UPI affirms its role as part of a pioneering and leading university that actively contributes to achieving quality education at both the national and global levels.
