Bandung, February 12, 2026 - The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) hosted a Mapag Ramadan event on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM, under the theme “Ramadan, the Noble Guest Long Awaited.” This event was held as an expression of welcome for the holy month of Ramadan and to strengthen bonds of fellowship within the FPBS community.

The event began with the MC’s opening, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem. Opening remarks were then delivered by the Vice Dean for Resources and General Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Zaka Al Farisi, M.Hum., who emphasized the importance of maintaining unity (ukhuwah) and deepening devotion in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. The session continued with a prayer led by Prof. Dr. Sofyan Sauri, M.Pd., invoking blessings of safety, grace, and ease for all members of the FPBS academic community and Muslim faithful observing the fast.

Following the prayer, all participants gathered for a group photo to commemorate the occasion. Prof. Fuad Abdul Hamied, M.A., Ph.D. then delivered a religious address (tausiyah) on the theme “Ramadan, the Noble Guest Long Awaited,” encouraging all participants to welcome Ramadan with hearts full of joy, sincerity, and a renewed spirit for worship.

The event proceeded with a farewell and welcome ceremony for educational staff, marking the rotation of two staff members (tendik) at FPBS. Ms. Indri Fitriani, S.Ak., who previously served as Head of the General Administration and Resources Section, has been assigned to a new role as Head of Asset Utilization and Disposal at the Asset and Environment Bureau. Mr. Hagi Pradipta, S.S., previously assigned to the English Language Education Study Program, has been transferred to the Language Center (Balai Bahasa). Both extended their heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to serve at FPBS.

Two new educational staff members joining FPBS were warmly welcomed: Ms. Kokom Komalasari, previously stationed at the Asset and Environment Bureau and now assigned to the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program, and Mr. Ricky Nurichsan, S.Sos., formerly with the Health Services Unit and now assigned to the Sundanese Language Education Program. Both are expected to contribute meaningfully to FPBS’s growth and development.

The event concluded with a social gathering, providing participants with the opportunity to engage in warm and friendly conversation, further strengthening the bonds of community within FPBS.

This event served not only as a celebration of Ramadan’s arrival, but also as an opportunity to reaffirm FPBS’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), through fostering strong interpersonal relationships, enhancing the quality of resource management, and maintaining harmonious working relationships within the academic community.
