Bandung, 26 January 2026 - The Korean Language Education Study Program, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), welcomed a volunteer visit from Kongju National University, South Korea, to strengthen academic relations and explore opportunities for cooperation between higher education institutions. This visit was facilitated through the Korea Education Center (KEC) in Indonesia as part of efforts to reinforce academic networking between universities in Indonesia and South Korea. The visit was received directly by the Head of the Korean Language Education Study Program, Risa Triarisanti, M.Pd., along with lecturers of the Korean Language Education Study Program.
The delegation from Kongju National University was led by Prof. Han Jaw Woong, Ph.D., Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Department of Smart Farm Engineering, and was joined by 20 students. Meanwhile, on the UPI side, the activity also involved 14 students from the Korean Language Education Study Program who actively participated throughout the series of activities.
The visit aimed to introduce the profiles of each institution, both Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and Kongju National University, as an initial step in building mutual understanding and opening opportunities for future academic collaboration. The agenda included an introduction session and interactions between students from both universities, carried out in a warm and communicative atmosphere.
During the interaction session, students had the opportunity to exchange information about education systems, campus life, and learning experiences related to the Korean language and culture. This activity is expected to broaden students’ international perspectives while strengthening communication competencies and cross-cultural understanding.
This activity is expected to strengthen institutional relations between the UPI Korean Language Education Study Program and Kongju National University and to open opportunities for sustainable academic cooperation, particularly in developing student exchange programs, academic collaboration, and strengthening international networks to improve educational quality and the global outlook of the academic community.
