Bandung, February 12, 2026 - The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) hosted a Public Lecture on the theme “Writing Quality Academic Articles in Humanities Studies,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Mikihiro Moriyama, a humanities scholar from Nanzan University, Japan. The lecture was held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 1:30 PM in the FPBS UPI Auditorium, and was attended by Master’s and Doctoral students from various study programs within FPBS.

The event was opened by the MC, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem as a gesture of patriotism and national pride. The session was then moderated by Prof. Dr. Yulianeta, M.Pd., who highlighted the significance of the topic presented by Prof. Moriyama, given the considerable challenges involved in producing high-quality academic articles in the field of humanities.

In the main presentation, Prof. Dr. Mikihiro Moriyama outlined strategic steps for crafting academic articles that not only meet scholarly standards but also contribute meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge in humanities studies. He also emphasized the importance of a robust methodology, engagement with international literature, and original contributions to research as essential components of a quality academic article.

Following the presentation, the event continued with a question-and-answer session, during which participants had the opportunity to engage directly with Prof. Moriyama on various challenges encountered in humanities research and academic article writing.

The event concluded with a group photo as a memento and a symbol of camaraderie among students, lecturers, and the guest speaker. The closing was accompanied by the hope that this public lecture would provide fresh perspectives and inspiration for students in producing high-quality academic writing.
