Bandung, April 16, 2026 - The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) received an academic visit from Prof. Kim Kyung Hwan, Ph.D., from Kyungdong University, South Korea, on Thursday, April 16, 2026. This visit was carried out as part of exploring international cooperation, particularly the development of a Double Degree program under the 2+2 scheme.

The meeting took place in the Leadership Meeting Room on the 1st floor of FPBS UPI and was attended by the Dean of FPBS, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Partnerships, and the Head of the Korean Language Education Study Program. The meeting discussed opportunities to implement a Double Degree program that would allow students to study for two years at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and two years at Kyungdong University.

During the discussion, both parties examined various strategic aspects, including curriculum alignment, student selection mechanisms, credit recognition systems, and the strengthening of sustainable academic cooperation between the two institutions. The program is expected to provide comprehensive international academic experience and improve graduates’ competitiveness at the global level.

On this occasion, the Dean of FPBS stated that this cooperation initiative is a strategic step in supporting the faculty’s internationalization. “This cooperation is expected to open wider opportunities for students to gain cross-country learning experiences and strengthen the quality of graduates who are globally competitive,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Kim Kyung Hwan, Ph.D., expressed appreciation for the welcome and commitment of FPBS UPI in establishing international collaboration. “We see excellent potential for cooperation between Kyungdong University and UPI, particularly in developing a Double Degree program that provides academic benefits and cultural exchange for students,” he said.

Through this activity, FPBS UPI continues to strengthen its role in developing international networks and encouraging the creation of innovative and sustainable academic collaboration with partner universities at the global level.
