The Korean Language Education Study Program (PBK), Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), had the honor of attending the Opening Ceremony of the Korean Education Center in Indonesia (KECI), held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Korean Education Center (Korea Center, 5th Floor), South Jakarta.

On this occasion, PBK FPBS UPI was represented by the Head of the Korean Language Education Study Program, Mrs. Risa Triarisanti, the Student Affairs Supervisor, Mrs. Ashanti Widyana, and PBK’s foreign lecturer, Mr. Lee Jong Ho. Their presence demonstrated FPBS UPI’s commitment to strengthening academic and cultural relations with educational institutions in South Korea.

The inauguration was also attended by the Director of KECI, Mr. Kim Kyu Nyun, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Park Soo Deok, and various distinguished guests, including representatives from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikdasmen) and several Korean organizations in Indonesia. The attendance of these key figures marked the strong support for enhancing Indonesia–Korea educational relations.

This year’s inauguration was especially meaningful as it coincided with Indonesia’s National Teacher’s Day, commemorated on November 25. The moment served as a symbol of appreciation for educators who play an essential role in improving the quality of education, including the teaching of Korean language and culture in Indonesia.

PBK FPBS UPI’s participation in the inauguration of KECI represents a strategic step in building networks, collaborations, and broader opportunities for cooperation in education, training, and cultural exchange. It is hoped that the synergy between UPI and KECI will continue to develop and contribute significantly to improving the quality of Korean language education in Indonesia.
