Bandung, December 19, 2025 - The Sundanese Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), organized the screening of an Indie Movie showcase entitled “Pinding Kelir Paramarta Film Festival” on December 19, 2025. The screening took place at Auditorium B, 4th Floor, FPBS. The event was attended by the Head of the Sundanese Language Education Study Program along with lecturers from the program and was appreciated by more than 200 audience members divided into two screening sessions.
The film festival featured four Indie Movie works entitled “Dewang”, “Tunggara”, “Budak Teuneung”, and “Asmaranala”. Each Indie Movie raised social themes and issues from different perspectives. All of the works served as a free creative space for Sundanese Language Education students. The implementation of this activity was the final project for the Indie Movie course.
Dedi Warsana, S.Pd., M.Sn. and Dr. Nia Nafisah, S.S., M.Pd. acted as appreciators and stated in their comments that all of the films already had mature concepts and raised issues close to everyday life. Audience responses showed a variety of emotions, ranging from tears to laughter.
Audience members also provided comments on the four films presented at the Pinding Kelir Paramarta Film Festival. Firmansyah, S.Pd. (UPI alumnus) commented that the films were very good and carried messages reflecting social phenomena around us. Meanwhile, Moch Dhymas A, S.Pd. (UPI alumnus) emphasized the moral messages regarding the complexity of campus life, both mentally and physically, and therefore suggested that the four films be submitted to short film festivals.
In addition to fulfilling the final course requirements, the four short films are planned to be submitted to competitions or film festivals held outside the campus. It is hoped that this Film Festival will continue to serve as a space for student expression and creative work within FPBS in the future.
