Bandung, December 19, 2025 - The Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), welcomed an educational visit from the SASTRA Journalism Extracurricular of SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak as part of the JurSASTRA Goes to Java Part II program on Tuesday, December 19, 2025, at 09:00 WIB.

The activity was attended by approximately 22 students and accompanying teachers and formed part of the work program of the SASTRA Journalists of SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak, which focuses on information exchange, development of critical thinking, reasoning skills, creativity, and fostering a sense of nationalism through cross-regional learning experiences.

The visit began with the arrival of the group at the UPI campus, followed by a welcoming session between the PBSI academic community and the SASTRA Journalism participants. A warm and dialogical atmosphere characterized the opening session, reflecting the spirit of openness and collaboration between educational institutions.

The main agenda took place during the welcoming and sharing session, which was packaged as a trial class. In this session, participants were introduced to an overview of learning at the PBSI Study Program UPI, including academic approaches, literacy development, study opportunities, and career prospects in the fields of language, literature, and education.

After the short class session, participants joined a campus tour guided by representatives of the PBSI Study Program. This activity provided students with direct experience in getting to know the university environment, academic facilities, and academic culture of UPI as one of Indonesia’s leading teacher education universities.

The activity concluded with a farewell session at 11:00 WIB, accompanied by positive impressions from participants who expressed gaining new motivation to pursue higher education, particularly in the field of Indonesian language and literature.

This educational visit aligns with the commitment of the PBSI Study Program FPBS UPI in supporting literacy strengthening, character education, and the development of academic interests among young generations, while also contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through expanding access to higher education insights for secondary school students, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration between secondary schools and higher education institutions across regions.

Through this activity, the PBSI Study Program FPBS UPI hopes to continue serving as an inspirational space for students from various regions of Indonesia in fostering a love for language, literature, and literacy-based journalism.
