Bandung, WPS - Students of the Sundanese Language Education Study Program distributed iftar snacks (takjil) to the public and several mosques around the campus area on Saturday (07/03/2026). This takjil-sharing activity was carried out as a form of social care while also enlivening the month of Ramadan, and has become a tradition initiated by students since 2024. The distributed takjil was funded through donations collected from students, alumni, and acquaintances, totaling Rp3,306,000.
“In recent years, Sundanese students have routinely organized togetherness activities as a way to strengthen social bonds. This is realized through the ‘Réréongan’ program, or sharing takjil with the community,” said Derin, a 2022 cohort student who served as the chair of the organizing committee. He added that this year’s committee was run by students from the 2022-2025 cohorts, involving alumni as invited participants and contributors without representing any particular organization.
A total of 200 boxed takjil were distributed to several mosques, namely Nurul Huda Mosque (Ledeng), Al-Hidayah Mosque (Cilimus), Nurul Falah Mosque (Gerlong), and Al-Hikmah Mosque (Ledeng), as well as to community members and passing motorists. After the distribution, the event continued with a short religious talk (kultum) delivering Islamic messages ahead of iftar time, and concluded with a communal breaking of the fast to strengthen togetherness among students.
This activity also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through food sharing with the community, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among students, alumni, and the community in supporting social initiatives.
“Thank you to everyone who participated as committee members in this activity. May it become a good deed for all of us. We apologize if there were any words or actions that were unpleasant, and may this spirit of togetherness never fade,” Derin concluded. (Haidar Ali Dzulfikar, Dian Hendrayana)
