The Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) held a Public Lecture and Workshop “Biru Karsa: Bingkai Ruang Karya dan Bahasa” on Wednesday, 14 January 2026. The activity took place at the 4th Floor Auditorium of the FPBS UPI Building as part of the Dissemination and Talk Show of the MBKM Research Program of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

The activity served as an academic forum to present and discuss research results as well as works produced by MBKM Research students in the fields of Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA), literacy, journalism, and literature. The public lecture and workshop were attended by lecturers, students, and the FPBS UPI academic community.

The Head of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, FPBS UPI, emphasized that the “Biru Karsa” activity is the faculty’s effort to strengthen a research-based academic culture and to encourage students to develop critical, systematic, and responsible scientific communication skills. Through this forum, students not only produce works, but also learn to articulate ideas and research findings in an open and dialogic academic space.

The activity was conducted offline with Zoom link support to broaden participant involvement. The event ran from 07.30 WIB until completion, featuring a series of work presentations, responses from speakers, and interactive discussions.

Institutionally, this activity supports the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) through project- and research-based learning. In addition, “Biru Karsa” aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through improving the quality of higher education and academic literacy, as well as SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) in strengthening innovation and the dissemination of linguistic and literary research. Through the organization of this public lecture and workshop, FPBS UPI continues to be committed to providing a productive, inclusive, and sustainable academic space as part of the university’s contribution to the development of science and national education.
