Bandung, June 10, 2025 - The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) held another inspiring literacy event through a Book Review with Bang Imus, featuring the book “Tales from the Land of Uncle Sam: Between Scholarships and Fated Love.”
Bang Imus, a young writer and alumnus of a U.S. scholarship program, is known for his works that explore themes of educational struggle, cultural identity, and diaspora life. In this book, he combines intellectual reflection with personal storytelling - highlighting his scholarship journey along with a touching and inspiring love story.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean of FPBS and conducted in a hybrid format (offline and online), allowing participants from various regions to join. Despite most attendees joining online, the warmth and enthusiasm remained present throughout the session.
The event featured:
- Opening remarks by the Vice Dean
- A live book review by Bang Imus
- Interactive Q&A with participants
- A literacy quiz to test knowledge
- Prizes for participants with the highest scores
Through this program, FPBS reaffirmed its commitment to fostering meaningful literacy while creating a dialogue space for students to explore global academic experiences and human values. The presence of Bang Imus and the active engagement of participants made this event a warm, reflective, and enriching learning forum.
