Bandung, December 18, 2025 – Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) and Joyo Bank officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, December 18, 2025, as a strategic step to open internship opportunities and employment prospects in Japan for UPI alumni. The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) UPI and the UPI Migrant Center attended the signing as witnesses to the cooperation.
The signing of this MoU is part of UPI’s efforts to strengthen international collaboration in supporting the global career development of its graduates. In its implementation, FPBS UPI together with the Japanese Language Education Study Program was appointed as the program implementing unit, particularly in academic preparation, language training, and readiness for Japanese work culture, with mentoring support from the UPI Migrant Center.
In his remarks, UPI leadership represented by the Dean of FPBS emphasized that the involvement of FPBS and the Japanese Language Education Study Program as implementers reflects the faculty’s concrete contribution in bridging the academic world with the needs of the international labor market. Through this cooperation, UPI alumni are expected to gain access to structured, high-quality, and sustainable internship programs and job opportunities in Japan.
The representative of Joyo Bank conveyed its commitment to supporting program implementation through its network of industry partners in Japan, including facilitation of the selection process, placement, and administrative support for participants. This collaboration is expected to provide professional experience and strengthen global competencies among UPI alumni.
This MoU serves as a formal framework for cooperation between UPI and Joyo Bank in developing skills training programs, internships, and international career opportunities. With the involvement of FPBS and the Japanese Language Education Study Program as implementers, this cooperation is expected to have a tangible impact on enhancing the global competitiveness of UPI graduates.
