BANDUNG, 12 March 2026 - In an effort to improve the quality of scientific publications and strengthen journal governance, a delegation from the Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin), Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), conducted a working visit to the Arabic Language Education Study Program, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), on Thursday (12/3/2026).
This Pusdatin delegation visit was part of a series of activities titled “Coordination for Strengthening Governance and Publication Timeliness of the TEKNODIK Journal,” held in Bandung on 11-13 March 2026. The team, consisting of five representatives from the management of Teknodik Journal, was warmly welcomed by leaders and journal managers within the Arabic Language Education Study Program at UPI.
The delegation was received directly by the Head of the Arabic Language Education Study Program, who also serves as the Editor in Chief of Alsuniyat Journal, Dr. Asep Sopian, M.Ag., accompanied by the program secretary, Dr. Rinaldi Supriadi, M.Pd. The full Alsuniyat Journal management team was also present, including Hikmah Maulani, M.Pd. as Managing Editor, Farhan Fuadi, M.Pd. as Journal Manager, and Shofa Musthofa Khalid, M.Pd. from the secretariat.
The main agenda of the meeting was to introduce Teknodik Journal, a scientific journal under Kemendikdasmen that focuses on publishing research findings and studies in the field of learning technology and education. Currently, Teknodik Journal has achieved SINTA 3 accreditation.
In the discussion, the Pusdatin team explained that Teknodik Journal’s main orientation going forward is to make a significant leap in quality and governance to achieve SINTA 2 accreditation. To reach this target, maintaining publication timeliness and ensuring consistent management of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform were key points discussed together.
The meeting was not merely a networking visit, but resulted in a strategic agreement between the managers of Teknodik Journal and Alsuniyat Journal (managed by UPI’s Arabic Language Education Study Program). One crucial point agreed upon was cross-reviewer collaboration (exchange of peer reviewers). This step is considered highly effective in enriching article review perspectives and maintaining the quality standards of each journal.
In addition, both parties exchanged best practices on the professional management of scientific journals, ranging from the editorial screening process, communication with authors, to resolving technical issues in managing online journal platforms.
Dr. Asep Sopian, M.Ag., welcomed this cross-institutional collaboration initiative. It is expected that the synergy built between Pusdatin Kemendikdasmen and UPI’s Arabic Language Education Study Program will help smooth Teknodik Journal’s path toward SINTA 2, while also providing positive momentum for the development of Alsuniyat Journal to a higher level. Furthermore, this collaborative step serves as a concrete manifestation of both institutions’ commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education through improving research quality and expanding access to scientific literature, as well as Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
