Bandung, December 8, 2025 - The Arabic Language Education Study Program (PBA) of FPBS UPI, in collaboration with the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Bandung Regency, demonstrated a real act of social concern by distributing donations to students affected by natural disasters in West Sumatra and Aceh.
This donation handover activity is a follow-up to the humanitarian cooperation and commitment between PBA FPBS UPI and BAZNAS Bandung Regency in helping others, particularly students who are currently facing difficult circumstances due to disasters.
Present at the event were the Head of the PBA Study Program, Dr. Asep Sopian, M.Ag., accompanied by lecturer Drs. Tatang, M.Hum. From BAZNAS Bandung Regency, its chairman, Yusuf Ali Tantowi, Lc., M.A., attended along with his team.
Meanwhile, the symbolic donations were received by two PBA FPBS UPI students, Salman (semester 3) and Dina (semester 1), who come from disaster-affected regions.
In his remarks, Dr. Asep Sopian stated that this activity is a real form of concern from the PBA FPBS UPI academic community for students who are going through a difficult situation due to natural disasters. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to BAZNAS Bandung Regency for its synergy, trust, and concrete contribution in supporting students.
“We express our deepest gratitude to BAZNAS Bandung Regency for its care and cooperation. May this collaboration of goodness continue and bring even greater benefits,” he said.
Similarly, the Chairman of BAZNAS Bandung Regency, Yusuf Ali Tantowi, emphasized that synergy between educational institutions and zakat agencies is essential to expanding the benefits of zakat, infaq, and alms for those in need, including students.
The student recipients expressed their gratitude for the concern and support provided. The assistance is expected to help meet basic needs and support the continuation of their studies at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
This activity strengthens the values of solidarity, humanity, and social concern within the campus environment, especially in the Arabic Language Education Study Program (PBA) of FPBS UPI.
