Bandung, December 22, 2025 - The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), commemorated its 61st Anniversary on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Auditorium B, 4th Floor, FPBS UPI. This year’s celebration carried the theme “Weighing Words, Valuing Works: 61 Years of FPBS Preserving Tradition and Carving Achievements.”
The event opened with a welcoming address by the Dean of FPBS UPI, Prof. Wawan Gunawan, M.Ed., Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of reflecting on FPBS’s academic journey while strengthening a culture of quality and achievement among the academic community. The program continued with a prayer and the screening of the FPBS 2025 kaleidoscope video showcasing the faculty’s accomplishments throughout the year.
As a form of appreciation for the dedication and contributions of the academic community, FPBS UPI presented several awards to lecturers and education personnel. The Satyalancana Karya Satya Award was given to six lecturers and education personnel with ten years of service and one lecturer with twenty years of service. In addition, the Karya Bhakti Satya Award was conferred upon six lecturers with ten years of service and seven lecturers with twenty years of service.
FPBS UPI also granted academic achievement awards to lecturers in various categories. Awards were presented to Dr. Kholid Abdullah H., M.Pd. as the most prolific book author; Dr. Rojab Siti Rodiyah, M.Ed. for the highest teaching evaluation score; Prof. Gin Gin Gustine, M.Pd., Ph.D. for international research; Prof. Dr. Yulianeta, M.Pd. for international community service; Prof. Fuad Abdul Hamied, M.A., Ph.D. for the highest Google Scholar citations; and Prof. Wawan Gunawan, M.Ed., Ph.D. for the most reputable international journal publications.
Meanwhile, outstanding education personnel awards were presented to Herma Nur Aphisa, S.Sos. (Education and Student Affairs Division) and Jenal Alfianta Bangun (Resources and General Administration Division).
The 61st Anniversary of FPBS UPI served as a momentum to strengthen the faculty’s commitment to building an excellent, inclusive, and sustainable academic culture. This effort aligns with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), while supporting UPI’s vision and mission as a pioneering and leading university in education at both national and international levels.
