At the beginning of the new student admission period and the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Campus Orientation and General Lecture (MOKA-KU), the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) held a meeting with the parents of new students for the 2025/2026 academic year on Friday, August 22, 2025. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, with some parents attending offline at the FPBS Auditorium and others joining online.
Parents of new undergraduate students from 10 study programs at FPBS were invited:
- Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program
- Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program
- English Language Education Study Program
- English Language and Literature Study Program
- Sundanese Language Education Study Program
- Japanese Language Education Study Program
- German Language Education Study Program
- French Language Education Study Program
- Arabic Language Education Study Program
- Korean Language Education Study Program
The parent meeting was aimed at disseminating both academic and non-academic programs available at UPI and FPBS. Presentations were delivered by the Dean of FPBS Wawan Gunawan, M.Ed., Ph.D.; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Partnerships Yanty Wirza, M.Pd., M.A., Ph.D.; and the Chair of the FPBS Student Council (KEMA), Legio Rivahel Bonatua Sitanggang.
The event was opened by the Dean of FPBS, who emphasized in his remarks the vital role of parents and families in ensuring student success. The Dean also presented FPBS’s vision, mission, and objectives, as well as its flagship programs and facilities designed to support effective learning and provide excellent services for every student.
The Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Partnerships presented key information related to academic advising, lectures, study duration, and assessment, including the new https://parent.upi.edu portal, recently launched as a platform for parents to monitor their children’s academic records.
Next, the Chair of KEMA shared information on student activities that help every student gain valuable organizational experience during their time at UPI FPBS.
The session concluded with a dialogue and Q&A between parents, faculty leadership, and KEMA representatives.
Through this meeting with parents of new students for the 2025/2026 academic year, FPBS reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality education, supporting physical and mental health, and promoting gender equality in line with the SDGs, all toward shaping a smart, knowledgeable, and impactful young generation of Indonesia.
