English Language Education (Bachelor)

History

September 1954: Program Establishment

The Bachelor’s Program in English Language Education (PPBING) was established pursuant to the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 35742.

2021: Accreditation and International Certification

PPBING obtained an “Unggul (Excellent)” accreditation from BAN-PT (Decree 10217/SK/BAN-PT/Akred-Itnl/S/VIII/2021), as well as “Unconditional” status from AQAS and certification from AUN-QA.

The program specializes in preparing English language education teachers, researchers, program developers, and educational analysts in alignment with the vision and mission of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and the Faculty of Language and Literature Education.

Academic Vision

To organize a leading bachelor‘s English language education study program through three pillars of higher education with functional and cutting-edge theories and practices in linguistics, pedagogy, and technology in line with the demand of the society.

Mission
  1. Deliver undergraduate learning in English Language Education supported by relevant linguistic sciences using cutting-edge methods.
  2. Conduct relevant and high-quality research at national and international levels.
  3. Carry out relevant and high-quality community engagement at local, national, and international levels.
  4. Produce high-quality publications at local, national, and international levels.
  5. Develop partnership networks with relevant institutions at local, national, and international levels.
Program Learning Outcomes
  1. Integrate theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in English as a Foreign Language education with the reference to level B2 with another supportive knowledge.
  2. Perform effective lesson planning, current teaching practice, and evaluation in EFL education context based on functional and cutting-edge theories and practices of linguistics, pedagogy and appropriate technology and resources.
  3. Make use of the knowledge of the 21th century skills, especially critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity in multidisciplinary perspectives.
  4. Apply moral, ethics, and university core values to uphold and maintain academic and social relations for continuous self-development.
  5. Perform research to contribute to the continuous development and enhance of EFL education in line with functional and cutting-edge theories and practices of linguistics, pedagogy, and technology.
