Bandung, 13 February 2026 - The Dean of the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), along with the faculty leadership, welcomed a delegation from Universiti Malaya for a cultural exchange and academic cooperation strengthening event.
The welcoming event, held at FPBS, was attended by the Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, the Chair and Secretary of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program, as well as faculty representatives from related programs. This activity became a significant moment to strengthen academic ties between the two institutions.
In his speech, the Dean of FPBS expressed appreciation for the visit of the Universiti Malaya delegation and emphasized FPBS’s commitment to expanding its international network, particularly in the fields of language, literature, and cultural studies. This meeting not only served as an academic fellowship but also as a platform for dialogue to share experiences and best practices in cross-cultural education.
As part of the event, a cooperation agreement was also signed for the implementation of a Cross-Cultural Seminar between Universiti Malaya and the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program at FPBS UPI. This agreement serves as the formal basis for holding a joint seminar on 13–14 February 2026, bringing speakers and participants from both institutions.
The Cross-Cultural Seminar discussed the dynamics of cultural exchange, linguistic perspectives, and the strengthening of intercultural understanding in the context of education and the global community. This activity is expected to enrich the knowledge of students and faculty, while also strengthening research collaboration and community service in the fields of language and culture.
This collaboration is in line with UPI’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the enhancement of internationalized learning, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the expansion of sustainable global cooperation.
Through this event, FPBS UPI reaffirms its role as a faculty that actively builds international networks and promotes intercultural dialogue as part of strengthening academic excellence and contributing globally.
