Bandung, April 16, 2026 - Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), through the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), officially sent off student participants of the 2026 Assistant Teacher Program to Australia. The program will run for three months, from April 16, 2026 to July 16, 2026.
A total of 9 (nine) students were selected as prospective Assistant Teachers, consisting of students from the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FPMIPA). The participants had gone through an internal selection process and were declared qualified to take part in the international program.
The send-off ceremony was held solemnly and attended by the Vice Rector for Education and Quality Assurance, Prof. Dr. Vanessa Gaffar, S.E., Ak., M.B.A.; the Vice Dean for Education and Quality Assurance of FPBS, Prof. Dr. Yulianeta, M.Pd.; and the Vice Dean for Education and Quality Assurance of FPMIPA, Prof. Al Jupri, S.Pd., M.Sc., Ph.D. Heads of study programs from the participating students were also present.
The Assistant Teacher Program to Australia is one form of UPI’s international cooperation implementation in the field of education, aimed at improving students’ global competence through direct experience in an international educational environment.
In her remarks, the Vice Rector for Education and Quality Assurance stated that the program serves as an important momentum for students to develop their academic and professional capacities. “This program is not only a means of strengthening teaching competence, but also a forum for cultural diplomacy. We hope students can uphold the good name of UPI and Indonesia while carrying out their duties in Australia,” she said.
Meanwhile, the faculty stated that this activity is part of UPI’s commitment to supporting educational internationalization and expanding global cooperation networks. Students are expected to adapt to a new environment, actively contribute to learning activities, and become positive representatives of the Indonesian nation.
This program is expected to provide valuable experience for students and strengthen UPI’s position as a globally oriented educational institution.
