Bandung, 13 July 2026. The Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), in collaboration with Langgam Pustaka, held a poetry workshop and a discussion of the book Sonata Senja on Monday, 13 July, at Auditorium B of the FPBS UPI Building.
The event featured Prof. Dr. Sumiyadi, M.Hum. (UPI) and Prof. Dr. Suminto A. Sayuti (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta) as speakers, and also included an appreciation session with literary figures Bode Riswandi, Muhammad Mazeinda Albiruni, Cecep Syamsul Hari, and Tedy Heriyadi.
Through this workshop and book discussion, participants gained insights into the creative process of writing poetry, literary criticism, and the role of literary works in fostering literacy, character building, and social sensitivity. In addition to the discussion sessions, participants also had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers on the development of Indonesian literature in the digital era.
The program aimed to strengthen the culture of literacy while enhancing appreciation for literary works among students and the wider community. The collaboration between the PBSI Study Program at FPBS UPI and Langgam Pustaka also formed part of a broader effort to build a more productive literary ecosystem through synergy between higher education institutions and the publishing sector.

The implementation of this activity supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the strengthening of literacy and lifelong learning, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between universities and partners in advancing education and culture. The Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at FPBS UPI remains committed to providing academic spaces that encourage creativity, reinforce literacy, and preserve Indonesian literature as part of building excellent human resources.
