Three students from the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), were among eight UPI students who participated in the 2025 Sookmyung UNESCO UNITWIN Advanced Workshop held at Sookmyung Women’s University, Seoul, from November 9 to 14, 2025. This activity is a continuation of a previous training program conducted in Bandung and announced through the official FPBS UPI website.
The three students - Siti Nurhasanah, Dwi Aulia Nisa, and Dinda Novi Nurjanah - were selected to join the advanced program in South Korea after demonstrating outstanding performance in the initial UNESCO UNITWIN Women in Digital and Entrepreneurship Training (WiDE). The advanced program was designed to deepen participants’ competencies through hands-on experience, international collaboration, and direct mentoring from global academics and practitioners.
In the Entrepreneurial Leadership track, Siti Nurhasanah and Dwi Aulia Nisa from the Undergraduate English Language Education Study Program, together with two other team members, joined a team developing a STEM-based entrepreneurship project focusing on business model development, pitch deck preparation, and startup growth simulation. Participants also gained direct exposure through a visit to the Seoul Startup Hub, enabling them to understand the global innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem firsthand.
Meanwhile, Dinda Novi Nurjanah from the Undergraduate English Language and Literature Study Program, along with three other team members, participated in the Digital Training on Data Analysis and Visualization track. This track focused on strengthening technological skills such as programming, data analysis, deep learning, and the development of artificial intelligence-based technology projects. Dinda joined a cross-country team with participants from Vietnam and Laos and worked on a final project involving autonomous car training as a collaborative learning platform and comprehensive application of digital concepts.
Siti Nurhasanah stated that the program changed her perspective on entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of starting with small steps, being willing to try, and building cross-cultural collaboration.
Dwi Aulia Nisa added that the supportive learning environment and diverse participant backgrounds provided a meaningful experience in strengthening women’s leadership in the STEM field.
Meanwhile, Dinda Novi Nurjanah expressed that her involvement in a cross-national digital project increased her confidence to grow in the technology and digital sectors.
The participation of FPBS UPI students in this program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), through the provision of quality education and the empowerment of women in digital and entrepreneurial fields. In addition, this activity supports UPI’s vision and mission as a pioneering and leading university in education with a global, innovative, and sustainable orientation.
The participation of the three FPBS UPI students in the 2025 Sookmyung UNESCO UNITWIN Advanced Workshop is expected not only to strengthen individual capacities but also to contribute meaningfully to the development of the academic atmosphere, internationalization, and enhancement of students’ global competencies within FPBS and UPI more broadly.
