Six students from FPBS UPI's Korean Language Education Study Program selected for the 2026 Du-Summer Camp at Donggang University

Bandung, 9 July 2026 - The Korean Language Education Study Program of the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), has once again recorded an outstanding international achievement. Six students have been selected to participate in the 2026 Du-Summer Camp organized by Donggang University in Gwangju, Korea. The program will take place from 2 to 8 August 2026 and will bring together international students from various countries.

The students from the Korean Language Education Study Program at FPBS UPI who were selected for the program are:

The success of these six students reflects the quality and competitiveness of students from the Korean Language Education Study Program at FPBS UPI in participating in international programs that focus on language development, cultural understanding, and global insight.

The 2026 Du-Summer Camp is a summer program designed to strengthen Korean language competence while introducing Korean culture directly to international students. Throughout the one-week program, participants will attend three hours of Korean language classes each day, complemented by various cultural activities and exploration of the city of Gwangju. The program aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the Korean language, culture, and everyday life in Korea while strengthening global competence and cross-cultural understanding.

Various engaging activities have been prepared for participants. In addition to attending the Welcome Ceremony and campus tour at Donggang University, students will experience wearing hanbok and taking part in a traditional tea ceremony at Gwangju Hyanggyo. They will also visit a range of cultural destinations, including Malbau Market, Damyang, where they will participate in T-shirt and eco-bag making activities at the Daedam Art Museum and visit the Juknokwon Bamboo Garden, as well as the Asia Culture Center and the Chungjang-ro area in Gwangju.

Participants will also enjoy a distinctive Korean experience by attending a professional KBO baseball game, one of the most popular sports in Korea. The program will conclude with a Completion Ceremony to mark the end of the series of activities and celebrate the participants’ achievements during the 2026 Du-Summer Camp.

During the program, Donggang University will provide accommodation, meals, and all academic and cultural activities, while participants will only need to cover airfare, visa processing, and personal expenses.

The participation of these six students from the Korean Language Education Study Program at FPBS UPI is expected to enrich their academic experience, strengthen their Korean language proficiency through direct practice in a native-speaking environment, and broaden their international networks. It is also hoped that this experience will inspire other students to continue developing their competence and to actively pursue international opportunities.
