Five alumni of FPBS UPI's Korean Language Education Study Program receive the 2026 GKS-G scholarship

Bandung, 9 July 2026 - More proud news has come from the alumni of the Korean Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Five alumni have been awarded the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degree (GKS-G), one of the most prestigious scholarship programs offered by the Government of the Republic of Korea for postgraduate study.

This achievement demonstrates the quality of graduates from FPBS UPI’s Korean Language Education Study Program and their ability to compete internationally. Through this scholarship, the alumni will continue their studies at leading universities in the Republic of Korea in a range of fields, including business administration, tourism, cultural content, visual content, and Korean language education.

The five alumni who were selected as recipients of the 2026 GKS-G Scholarship are:

  • Chetiza Aninditha Giani (Class of 2015), admitted to Gyeongguk National University in the Cultural Content program.
  • Virland Brillian Tumangkeng (Class of 2016), admitted to Dongseo University in the Visual Content program.
  • Alfia Rizky Zulianty (Class of 2019), admitted to Ewha Womans University in the Business Administration program.
  • Ki Agus Ahmad Muhaimin (Class of 2019), admitted to Kangwon National University in the Tourism Administration program.
  • Nareswari Ghalda Shafira (Class of 2021), admitted to Hanyang University in the Korean Language Education program.

The success of these five alumni shows that the competence developed through the Korean Language Education Study Program is not only relevant to language studies, but also serves as a strong foundation for pursuing expertise in various disciplines that contribute to Indonesia-Korea relations.

The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) is a full scholarship provided by the Government of the Republic of Korea to outstanding international students. In addition to covering the full cost of study, the program provides recipients with opportunities to broaden their academic networks, deepen their understanding of Korean culture, and contribute to international cooperation in education, research, and culture.
