Jakarta, 21 June 2026 - Students of the Korean Language Education Study Program of FPBS UPI once again demonstrated a spirit of collaboration and cultural diplomacy through their active participation in the 76th Korean War Commemoration (6.25 Korean War Commemoration), organized by the Korea Freedom Federation (KFF) Indonesia at Jakarta Korean International School (JIKS). The event formed part of the Korean War remembrance series, combined with the presentation of the Patriotic Writing Competition awards (나라사랑 글짓기) and cultural performances from various educational institutions.
In the event, students of the Korean Language Education Study Program of FPBS UPI were entrusted to fill the cultural performance session, which became one of the main parts of the program. The atmosphere was opened by Bersinar Girls (브르시나르 걸), who performed BABYMONSTER’s We Go Up and Monster. The group consisted of Anindita Nabiilah, Andaira Regita Lovy Mylea, Diah Wulan S., Keiyya Malaika, Tisya Aprilia, and Khayyira Eka Putri.
Next, Bersinar Boys (브르시나르 보이즈) performed LNGSHOT’s Moonwalking, featuring Abdul Aziz, Aditya Al Farizy, Afriza Aulianto, and Fajar Pratama. The energetic performances from both groups successfully enlivened the atmosphere and received an enthusiastic response from the invited guests.
As the closing performance, the Gitbalchum Team presented a Korean flag dance rich in meaning as a symbol of respect for history, unity, and the spirit of peace. The team consisted of Keyne Azizah Efinda, Siti Nurliah Tasybita, Zaskia Marwah Aulia, Syady Syifa Farah Afanin, Azzahra Nadine, Azlia Nazneen Dzahabiyyah, and Cita Cendekia Ramadhani. This closing performance left a solemn impression while at the same time showcasing the richness of Korean culture to all participants in attendance.
The success of the performances was also made possible by the support of students working behind the scenes. Nabil Azqi Athallah served as the Day-of-Event Coordinator, overseeing the entire student activity series. Documentation and publication were handled by Puteri Zahra Adira Salsabila Hidayat, Salwa Nadyah Rachmansyah, and Nareswari Zakaria, while technical support was provided by Zahra Haliza and Fahira Hilmiya as operators.
In addition, the crew team consisting of Nandi Dwi Sapta, Rena Rahmawati, Keyzia Kenaya Aria Rokhim, Aulia Nur Febriana, Ratih Ramaniya Aristawati, Rahfa Azzahra Putri Ramadhanti, and Marcha Maulidya also played an important role in ensuring that all performances and the event itself ran smoothly.
Not only the performers and committee members, other students of the Korean Language Education Study Program of FPBS UPI were also present to show support and participate in the activity, namely Khalifa Nur Aisyah, Alma Malika Azizah, Pelita Cahaya Putri, Zakia Nurul Izzati, Eva Cielsa Adriana, Astie Bherliana Putri, Syaida Hana Siti Latipah, Naila Aulia Pratiwi, Maulidina Astuty, Najwa Putri Haerudin, Kayazka Deannova, Leni Muth Mainah, Resvi Alifia, Syakirah Syahla Hidayati, Meila Rizke Putri, Divana Amalia Fitriyana, Kaylin Ruth Loisa, Ayaszhaura Cintana Salsabila, Agnes Cindi Herdianti, Mulia Sinar Buana, and Jessica Claudia. Their presence reflected the students’ enthusiasm and solidarity in supporting an activity that forms part of the friendship between Indonesia and South Korea.
On that occasion, the Head of the Korean Language Education Study Program of FPBS UPI, Ms. Risa Triarisanti, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated that student involvement in the Korean War commemoration is part of a learning process that has been carried out consistently for more than a decade through cooperation with the Korea Freedom Federation. According to her, this activity gives students the opportunity to learn directly about history, culture, and the values of peace and international cooperation.
Through participation in this activity, students not only displayed their creativity and artistic abilities before an international audience, but also gained valuable experience in working as a team, managing a performance, and serving as cultural ambassadors who introduce the quality of FPBS UPI Korean Language Education students. The activity also proves that learning in the Korean Language Education Study Program does not only take place in the classroom, but also through real experiences that strengthen students’ academic, organizational, and cultural diplomacy competencies.
